V. Krishna Komanduri, Ph.D., DABR

Director of Physics

Dr. V. Krishna Komanduri is currently Director of Physics at CTSI for the Company’s domestic and international operations. He has been associated with CTSI since its inception and helped as an advisor in all technical matters related to the construction of accelerator-housing bunkers, equipment specification, recruitment of physics staff and quality assurance.

Before joining CTSI, Dr. Komanduri held various senior positions in the radiation oncology field including senior physicist for D3 Radiation Planning, Chief of Clinical Physics at UPMC, Shadyside as well as Chief of Clinical Physics at University of Kentucky. He has been very active in teaching Radiation Oncology residents as well as in the AAPM accredited Medical Physics program in the U.S.

Dr. Komanduri has extensive research experience both in medical physics as well as in experimental physics and has over 50 publications and a patent to his credit. His current interests included adopting new technologies for cancer treatment on a clinical level as well as the electronic integration of clinics for unified quality assurance and quality management.

Dr. Komanduri has a Ph.D. in physics from University of Delhi, trained in Britain in medical physics and is board certified by American Board of Radiology for practicing medical physics. He is registered and holds licenses for practicing Therapeutic Radiology in several states in the U.S.
