Cancer Treatment Services San Diego, L.L.C., a subsidiary of Cancer Treatment Services International, L.P., has partnered with the UCSD Department of Radiation Oncology to bring the newest of the UCSD satellite cancer clinics, UCSD Department of Radiation Oncology South Bay. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the most sophisticated technology available in the field of radiation oncology including the Trilogy™ Stereotactic System with RapidArc™ from Varian Medical Systems. This multi-faceted system offers various treatment modalities and advanced conformal therapies such as IMRT and IGRT. Patient care at UCSD South Bay is second to none by providing a unique treatment plan for each patient that focuses on individual needs and concerns.

Located in Chula Vista, California, this 10,000 square foot facility provides radiation therapy that targets the tumor and spares healthy tissue by using the most advanced technology available in the market. Our radiation oncology team couples this leading edge technology with a compassionate and caring approach to cancer care which ensures that patients feel at ease and comfortable while receiving cancer care.

State-of-the-Art Technology. UCSD Radiation Oncology South Bay is operated as a paperless environment utilizing sophisticated electronic medical record software for all activities. This system provides our physician with instant patient information and records, streamlines the patient care experience, and allows for seamless communication with referring physicians.
Sophisticated Treatment Modalities and Equipment.The clinic has the Trilogy™ Stereotactic System from Varian Medical Systems. This system is equipped with the latest technology known as RapidArc™. RapidArc decreases radiation treatment times by up to 60% while still maintaining the same level of precision and therapeutic efficacy. This comprehensive technology package includes the following treatment modalities:
- 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
- Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
- Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
Advanced Treatment Planning. An on-site CT scanner with 4-dimensional capability is utilized for patient simulations for radiation oncology treatments. The staff consists of a full-time Medical Physicist and certified Radiation Therapists to support the use of enhanced treatment planning.
